2021 - Present
Coldest Winter / Sweetest Spring references popular culture, personal archives, divinatory practices and games as a method of unearthing wonder from lonesome boredom. Piecing together fragmented narratives of life, loss, love, and aspirations, Ocampo seeks to reconnect with an adolescent psyche, daydreaming beyond ordinary moments and passing time by alluding to nostalgic sensibilities. Set against a tonal backdrop of the changing of seasons, this body of work reflects on how the lessons of turbulent and/or mundane teenage youth never cease to be relevant. They mirror ongoing insecurities, challenges, and doubt - but also processes of healing, growth, and flourishing.
